7/21 League of Legends free champion rotation and testing champions

Every week, League of Legends has 10 champions that are free to play.  If you’re first starting out in the game, this is a great way to try out new champions.  I am currently in the process of trying to figure out which champions fit my play style for each role, so these rotations are working out well for me.

I’ve decided that I’m okay purchasing champions with real money if I like how they play, but I’m not in a hurry.  A couple of times a week, Riot puts a few champions on sale for half off.  Of course, the ones on sale are never the ones in the free rotation.  They want you to impulse purchase them for full price.

So what do we do?  Well I need to start trying out the champions when they come around in the rotation and keep a list to buy.  The reason for this post is that this week’s is that this week’s rotation is pretty awesome.  Check it out here.

I really want to try out Fiddlesticks.  He always gives me trouble so I figure there must be something to him.  I tried him in a previous week, but he was too difficult for me at that point.  Shen and Ashe are both cheap recommended champions I never really got any experience with but could be worth the IP.  Kha’Zix seems really cool but is expensive.   I already have Thresh but he’s so finicky that he should definitely be tried before purchase.  Diana is used quite effectively competitively so I feel like I should give her a chance.

Some weeks aren’t so hot but I’m really excited to try out some new champions this week.
